Reform, Perform and Transform: A Call to the Zen Next of SECL

Every organization, like every individual, stands at crossroads where choices determine its destiny. In today’s dynamic and competitive environment, the mantra for sustainable growth and enduring glory is clear: Reform, Perform, and Transform. This triad is not merely a slogan; it is a roadmap to build resilience, innovation, and excellence at every level.
In one of his addresses, our Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi ji had also attributed the n nation’s rise and its remarkable economic progress to the guiding principles of “Reform, Perform, and Transform”. He had emphasized that this approach had helped India become the world’s fifth-largest (now fourth-largest) economy, doubling its economy and exports over the last decade. And I’m very sure that this Mantra is equally important for our organization’s rise and bringing remarkable sustainable progress.
A few days back, I had made a call to build a ‘Nexus of Good’ in the organization so that a living ecosystem’ is created where people with strong values, positive energy, and the determination & will to make a difference in the organization, 'Not just Survive but Thrive in the organization.’
And today, I’m again here to make a call to the Zen next to embrace the tested mantra of ‘reform, perform, and transform—so that we could build such an organization today, which become the beacons of progress, resilience, and goodness for generations to come.
It’s needless to say that in the coal industry where we work, desperately needs reforms – both Structural as well as Process reforms to remain relevant in the fast-changing digital world. Structural reforms are needed to streamline decision-making, modernize infrastructure, eliminate bottlenecks, and encourage greater collaboration, while process reforms are vital to simplify operations, adopt digital technologies, and ensure efficiency, transparency, and accountability. These reforms are not just desirable—they are essential to enhance productivity and innovation, and make our industry future-ready, sustainable, and globally competitive.
It's also needles to mention that the future belongs to the Zen Next—a generation of leaders and teams who combine mindfulness & purpose with action, wisdom with innovation, and ambition with ethics. This Zen Next must create a Nexus of Good, where individual brilliance is harnessed for collective progress, and organizational success becomes inseparable from societal well-being.
However, it’s also true that the success of any reform—be it structural or process—truly takes shape only when it carries the conviction and support of the organization’s top leadership. And I think, everyone will agree with me that the present top leadership is best placed to guide and support our mission of bringing meaningful reforms & renewal to the organization.
In the above backdrop, it’s my pleasure to inform that programme – ‘CMD Connect’ is going to be started shortly to have open-interaction of Zen Next with CMD, SECL, so that very much needed Structural & Process Reforms could happen in our industry. The very purpose of starting these sessions is just to build a culture where outdated practices can be questioned, inefficiencies can be weeded out, and complacency can be replaced with curiosity.
We all want to see a sea-change transformation in our organization, which is only possible if we make calls for structural as well as process reforms and align our individual’s energy with our organizational vision. So, the Zen Next of SECL are herby requested to do some brain-storming on what kind of reforms they want to bring in our organization, make accordingly the problem statements as well as the probable solutions and be ready to make open-interaction with CMD, SECL.
Let’s, rise together, build a Nexus of Good and become the energy that reform, perform and transform our esteemed organization’s destiny.
Thank You All
Regards
